| Description: The new bidirectional power supplies of series EA-PSB 10000 off much power in in a small space: 30 kW in only 4 units of height (4U). Compared to series EA-PSB 9000 3U it saves a space of 2U, or one third, when considering the 30 kW of rated power. It also incorporates two devices in one: a power supply (source) and an electronic load (sink) with energy recovery. Based on these two features the devices offer the functionality of two-quadrants operation as standard. The internal electronic load achieves a high voltage dynamics by discharging the unavoidable capacitance on the DC terminal. For a connected source, the devices are full electronic loads with energy recovery feature, ideal for bigger systems with a total power of up to 1.08 megawatts. In source operation mode the device becomes a flexible, autoranging power supply like those of series EAPSI 9000 3U. It incorporates the advantages of both device types into one and at the same time it eliminates the disadvantages of separate units regarding weight, space requirement, costs and effort to implement them into custom test software. |

Compared to series EA-PSB 9000 3U it saves a space of 2U, or one third, when considering the 30 kW of rated power. It also incorporates two devices in one: a power supply (source) and an electronic load (sink) with energy recovery. Based on these two features the devices offer the functionality of two-quadrants operation as standard. The internal electronic load achieves a high voltage dynamics by discharging the unavoidable capacitance on the DC terminal. For a connected source, the devices are full electronic loads with energy recovery feature, ideal for bigger systems with a total power of up to 1.08 megawatts. In source operation mode the device becomes a flexible, autoranging power supply like those of series EAPSI 9000 3U. It incorporates the advantages of both device types into one and at the same time it eliminates the disadvantages of separate units regarding weight, space requirement, costs and effort to implement them into custom test software. |

The DC voltage and current are determined by the application and the spectrum ranges from 0 - 60 V to 0 - 2000 V and from 0 - 40 A up to 0 - 1000 A in a single device. The DC supply operates as a flexible output stage with a constant power characteristic (autoranging), and a wide voltage and current range. To achieve higher power and current all units are equipped with a Master-Slave-Bus. This enables up to 64 parallel connected devices to be combined into one system which can provide up to 3840 W and 64000 A. Such a system works as a single unit and can use different power classes start from 5kW, only the voltage class must remain constant. In this way a user can construct a 150 kW system from two 60 kW and one 30 kW devices from the PUB 10000 range. Furthermore, typical laboratory functionality is provided. This includes an extensive function generator, alarm and warning management, various optional interfaces and ports, software solutions and many more functions. | Description: The bidirectional DC laboratory power supplies in the PUB 10000 series from EA Elektro-Automatik are two quadrant devices which can perform the function of a power supply (source) as well as that of an electronic load (sink). In sink mode the device is regenerative and feeds the energy back into the local grid with an efficiency up to over 96%.
